Training: Definitely blood sweat and tears....minus the tears....maybe tears....You'll never know.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States in 1983. My parents worked very hard to ensure our education, and I attended college for four years in Business. I started fighting because I loved Martial Arts. I began training nine years ago in Muay Thai, five years ago in jiu-jitsu. Bruce Lee movies interested me and I had the dream of being a real Martial Arts hero some day.

What ranks and titles have you held? Art Of War Champion, Kansas Muay Thai Champion, TKO Champion.

What was your most challenging fight? I would say my most challenging fight was with Ben Henderson. I had no knowledge of his style and wrestling. So the ending result was a guillotine choke.

Did you compete in any other sports? I was into dancing when I was in high school. After High School is when I got into fighting. The dance school I was at had a kickboxing class. I didn't want to take it at first because it was American style kickboxing, but when my Muay Thai teacher Saekson Janjira moved from California to Dallas is when I made that transition to fighting, but I still danced on the side.

What motivates you? The value that I learn from starting at nothing to get where I'm at today as a fighter gives me a lot of appreciation for the game and the push to outdo my skills in all my fights.

What is your favorite thing about this sport? My favorite thing would be the adrenaline rush when you’re walking out, feeling the crowd and then getting in that cage and doing what you love.

How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? I see myself doing this until God tells me I can't do it anymore. This is what I love and only He or my mom will be the one to determine when I stop.
